Testing Offers with Poll Factory

September 10th, 2008 posted by · 5 Comments

Early in July I gave a review on Poll Factory, the software that easily generates simple polls for CPA offers in just a few minutes. I’ve been really giving it a go lately and testing out numerous CPA offers from various networks to see which give the best bang for their click.

I’m writing about this again because many Internet Marketers still don’t know what a valuable tool Poll Factory is when it comes to managing your CPA campaigns. Basically why it’s so important to me is because it’s a simple way of create a fun and exciting landing page, without having to do much coding or typing in the form of a sales letter.

When I’m looking for a new hot offer to promote, I generally pick something between a $1.50 and $4.00 CPA and run tests for a few hours using Poll Factory. What I’ll do is set up a simple poll on current events, pop culture, politics etc. and then shoot off $25 into Google AdWords and accelerate my ads to show as quickly as possible (faster results). After about 6 hours I’ll pause the campaign and analyze my CTR % and more detailed stats. If I’m only paying 35 cents a click and I’m making between $1.50 and $4.00 for a simple CPA form submit, I’m way ahead.

Why I do this is to see how well an offer converts before I go full force promoting it and spending more of my time on it.

If you don’t already have Poll Factory, pick it up and start your testing with it. I don’t know what I ever did before this came along. Well, I do know — I did everything manually and struggled with creating simple landing pages that were enticing, but didn’t really pack a punch. How times have changed.

If an offer shows promise what do you do to promote it more?

Generally I set up a landing page on Blogger.com and then run some low paying PPC campaign keywords in Google. I’ll also include a link to my landing page in weekly newsletters that I send out, and in forum signatures. Free traffic is always the best way, but PPC is still very useful if you can make a profit by not spending too much.

what kind of offers have you found to convert well? I tried with some basic zip submits and did not have any luck 🙁

Akshay: Debt offers do well, so do credit cards. Also try diet and weight loss stuff too.

    Hey Chris,

Thanks for the plug man! I found this post doing some keyword research on google. Nice to stumble on postive feedback once in a while 😀

Poll Factory 2.0 is going to be officially released tomorrow, actually. If anyone though Poll Factory 1.0 was worth anything, 2.0 is going to blow you away.

The price is going up from $50 to $100 (with a limited time $75 release special), but upgrades are free for existing users 😀

Anyway, didn’t mean to spam your post here, just wanted to say thanks and to give you a heads up on poll factory 2.0
