Aweber Unveils Drastic Price Increase

June 13th, 2008 posted by · No Comments

Aweber, the popular e-mail list management system, has raised their prices and adjusted their payment structure.

Originally the price was $19.95/month for up to 10,000 subscribers. It is now $19/month for up to 500 subscribers. I was paying $19.95/month for my Aweber account to begin with, so I won’t see a difference in my pricing, but I will see a difference in how many subscribers I can have under that rate (only 500 now!) With the new pricing model, my account would now cost $29/month if I ever went over 500 subscribers.

See Aweber’s complete pricing structure.

Before you go crazy, you should know that current members will not be automatically upgraded to the new pricing.

I guess a price adjustment was expected the way the economy is going right now. Gas is up, retailers are raising their prices, the unemployment rate is at a record high… *cough* Aweber jumps on economic bandwagon. *cough*

Not only did Aweber announced a new pricing model, they’ve also unveiled some awesome new features, some of which include:

  • E-mail analytic tools
  • Click tracking with your domain
  • New reports: Track campaign activity over time
  • Track and target subscribers based on activity
  • …and more!

So I guess with all the extras you’re getting, the price increase can be somewhat justified. If you have over 500 subscribers anyway, you’re probably making enough to upgrade your e-mail plan after all.
