I’m Apparently Banned from Digg?
A few readers have e-mailed me complaining that they can’t submit any of my stories to Digg. Apparently when they try, they receive a message that my particular URL has been flagged as spam.
I don’t Digg any of my own stories, so it’s pretty obvious what has happened here. The Digg system is very flawed. Anyone can flag anything as spam if they don’t agree with the opinions made in a post. There’s no way really to protect yourself from this, as Digg doesn’t manually check each post marked as spam. If enough members of the Digg community flag a post, the URL is banned automatically.
I sent an e-mail to Digg about the issue, in which they replied, “The decision to ban this specific URL (moneymakingscoop.com) is final and irreversible.” So wait, even if they wanted to they CAN’T reverse it? Sounds like they have crappy programmers!
The funny thing is that I’ve been invited to go on a tour of the Digg offices in July. I wonder what they’ll say when I bring this issue up? Awkward.
