Flip Video – Pretty Freakin’ Cool

A lot of bloggers are turning to the famous Flip Video camera these days to do their video posts. Or even if you’re not a blogger, it’s worth checking this neat little gadget out.

JimKukral.com has a video feature on his site called “The Daily Flip”, where he records and posts a new video everyday using his Flip Video camera. I currently have mine on order from Amazon and it should arrive here shortly.

What is the Flip Video camera?

It’s a small compact video camera which can record up to 60 minutes of video on its 1GB of internal memory. The resolution is 640 x 480 (perfect for YouTube videos) and it comes with a built-in USB connection, as well as an array of colour options. Choose from orange, green, white, pink or black.

This by no means should replace your regular camcorder or be a substitution for buying a real video camera. The Flip Video camera is a tiny device you can carry around in your pocket or your purse and be ready to shoot video in seconds. The image and audio quality is much better than that of a normal cell phone.

How much does the Flip Video cost?

It retails at $129.99 for the 1GB version or $99.99 for the 512MB version, which only records 30 minutes of video. You can find the Flip Video camera for much cheaper on Amazon or eBay. I found a 1GB version for only $79.99. It also makes a great gift for those gadget geeks in your life.
