5 Signs You Suffer From Blog Burnout
Many bloggers often experience what some call blogger burnout; a complete lack of energy and creativity. Michael Kwan has compiled a list of 5 signs to look for if you think you may be almost at your last rope when it comes to writing a post. The most common one on the list from what I’ve heard from other bloggers is No Life Outside Work (trying to maintain a healthy life-work balance).
How to Use a WordPress Page as a Home Page
Sometimes bloggers don’t necessarily want to have their latest posts displayed on the front page of their blog. One of the reasons you would perhaps want it this way is if you wanted static content on the front page, and your posts highlighted somewhere else throughout your site. It’s quite simple to set this up (no plugins required either). BloggingExperiment.com goes into detail on how to accomplish setting up a WordPress page to be displayed as your home page. Start to finish you’re looking at about 2 minutes to get this done. An example of this would be ProBlogger.net, where Darren Rowse only shows excerpts from his posts and links to his archives to display the rest of the content. A good thing about this is that you have more design room to add other things to your front page, such as advertising or more blog features.
Yahoo! Argentina Office
The offices of Yahoo!’s Argentina branch are pretty laid back and overly coloured in purple. Most tech offices today I’ve noticed are very easy going and the decor is pretty much an anything goes genre. Perhaps that’s to help with the creativity? However, I think I still prefer Google’s Mountain View digs better.
