Internet Marketing Goals for 2008

January 2nd, 2008 posted by · 4 Comments

Today is the first official business day for many people after the holidays. It’s time to get back into the swing of things and continue on from where you left off in late December.

For me personally, I’ve set up a few goals of my own this year. They aren’t resolutions, but goals – things I’d like to achieve within the next 365 days.

Spend More Time on Higher Earning Projects

Last year I began creating several internet projects, but never finished them completely. Most of them took a lot of time and effort to develop, but never fully got off the ground. One of the reasons for this I think was because they wouldn’t have generated the amount of income I would have liked to see. This year I’m only going to focus on worthwhile internet investments which will sustain a long term presence.

Monetize This Blog More

In September 2007 I kicked off this blog and began posting daily, which was great. While this blog isn’t my main source of income, I’d certainly like to monetize it more this year. I wouldn’t go as far as saying I’d like to see $20,000 a month from a blog like John Chow does, but a few thousand wouldn’t hurt. I know it can be done. I’ve seen other bloggers monetize their sites and it becomes obvious that all they’re doing is blogging for money. Their blog designs are solely based to fit around sponsor ads and hold advertisements and it’s an immediate turn off. Don’t worry though – Money Making Scoop would never go in that desperate direction.

Brand Myself and Establish a Community

I think I’m more well known as an eBay seller and author than a blogger. Many people relate the words Money Making Scoop to that guy with the orange header. Hey, at least it’s something. Last year I focused more on blog content, than establishing a community presence on my blog. I vow to focus more attention this year on building a steady reader following and creating a brand people can familiarize themselves with. I may bring in an outside marketing firm in assisting me to do this, as branding isn’t my strongest area of expertise. 😎

What are some of your goals this year?

    Hey Chris,

I got started in affiliate marketing last year (in May) and started making money in June. But my earnings were sporadic. So for 2008 my objective is to consistently make money online and to sharpen my money making skills.

Keep up the good work with this blog and I wish you all the best for this new year.

Some of the goals i have for myself as far my online ventures, is to become more tech savvy. I dont want to OUTSOURCE so much.

Within blogging, i really want to learn wordpress theme design. Within general online marketing, i want to dabble in PPC, learn more SEO stuff, and
domaining. The field of net marketing is so awesome, there is so much to learn and do. I love it.

Happy New Year 2 You, Chris.
    Missy.
