Cyber Monday 2007 – Get Your Credit Card Out
Today is known as Cyber Monday, the largest online shopping day of the year. Of course last week was the famous Black Friday sale at offline retailers and some websites. But today is all about the online deals.
If you don’t feel like shelling out cash today to get some of your holiday shopping done, that’s fine. But what you should be doing is taking advantage of the plethora of traffic which is circulating the internet today. This isn’t your normal traffic, it’s traffic that comes from shoppers with their Visa cards in hand looking to get a bargain online. If you’re smart, you already have your affiliate links up and Christmas PPC campaigns running like mad.
I belong to several e-mail lists and this morning alone I must have received 8 e-mails forwarding me to offers for electronics, home decor, clothing, auto accessories and appliances. What’s funny is that the e-mail I normally receive from these senders is all internet marketing related. These guys don’t fool around and they know when and what to market.
Because of the weak U.S. dollar, many Canadians are also taking part in Cyber Monday this year. A few of my colleagues have already completed their shopping. Personally for me, I picked up the new Delphi XPressRC receiver for XM Satellite Radio. It’s normally $169, but I was able to get it for $109. Don’t bother looking on the site I linked above – I got my discount through an e-mail offer. Sorry folks. 😎
Close to half of American workers are expected to shop while at work on the Monday after Thanksgiving — the online retailing world’s version of brick-and-mortar retail’s Black Friday — according to a new survey by Arlington, Texas-based Decision Analyst.
