WidgetBucks Review – One Week Later
WidgetBucks made its debut one week ago today and so far the reviews on it are very mixed. Don’t know what WidgetBucks is? Read my original post.
I’ve read on many forums that there’s a problem with their tracking system as far as how many impressions are being calculated. I can speak first hand about this issue. I just logged into my WidgetBucks account and I see that in one week I’ve only had a small number of impressions. This is way off, as my other ad systems are showing in the thousands for my other campaigns. Hopefully they’ll get this fixed soon and up to date.
Yesterday I spoke with three other internet marketers who have blogs similar to mine and they are also reporting little success with the program thus far. Very low CTR and again with the funny impression calculation. I’m going to give WidgetBucks some more time though. Anything new needs at least a month or so to get completely going and get any bugs worked out.
The good news is that eCommerce sites, such as sites based around the shopping niche are reporting excellent CTR. This makes sense, seeing as how WidgetBucks is based around, well – shopping ads!
I’ll keep you updated on my experience as I get more information. In the mean time, check out the WidgetBucks Blog and sign up if you already haven’t.

On my technology blog where I have WidgetBucks running in a top 728×90 banner space I’ve gotten a lot of impressions typically about 30% less than the actual page views due to ad blocking. Reported click-thru has been quite poor though, considerably less than Adsense, AuctionAds, and Shopzilla when they were in the same slot. I’ll see if performance improves over the next week or so and, if it doesn’t, I’ll replace it.

Thanks for the post. I haven’t actually used WidgetBucks, but this is good information. I might try WidgetBucks out.

Chris, my impression stats seem alright, however, I feel that the long delay in CTR stats update is frustrating. On top of that it seems like they might not be able to cope with the response – I’ve sent emails with a question on why I’ve had a click reported without any earnings updated despite them being past the last update date. Will give it some time still tho’, as the RPC seems to be quite good.
