Lyndon Reid Cleans Up at Affiliate Summit West
Affiliate marketer, blogger and fellow Canadian Lyndon Reid won ShoeMoney’s contest a few weeks ago to get a free trip out to Las Vegas for Affiliate Summit, which took place earlier this week. Part of the deal was he received $2,500 to put on a single hand of Blackjack. Lyndon was extremely lucky and ended up coming away with over $6K! Awesome! John Chow had the entire winning on video. Check it out below… and congrats Lyndon!
YouTube Introduces Movie Rentals
Between PPV, Apple TV and video on demand, there has never been a reason to hit up your local video store. He’s another reason: YouTube debuted movie rentals this week. Yep, the Google-owned video site said Wednesday it will begin rolling out the service on a limited basis and start by offering flicks from the Sundance Film Festival. Purchases will be made in conjunction with a user’s Google Checkout account. Each rental will cost a few bucks and allow you to watch a movie as many times as you want during a certain period of time.
Amazon Launching App Store for Kindle
The Amazon Kindle will soon be able to do much more than just read books, as the company plans to launch an app store. The idea is to directly compete with Apple and boost the functionality of the device. Unfortunately, there isn’t an app to make the screen suddenly become available in colour. With Apple rumoured to launch the Tablet next week, Amazon will have quite the challenge in trying to take away some of their market share. The New York Times looks at this story more in-depth. Speaking of the NYT, they said this week that beginning in 2011, they will start charging users for its website content. Good luck with that.
