Are Twitter Ads Evil?

Internet marketing “gurus” would tell you that paid advertising on Twitter, such as Sponsored Tweets, ad.ly, etc. are a cash cow when it comes to in-stream advertising. Mashable.com says that interrupted advertisements, such as those found in the middle of your friend’s Twitter feeds, are the same old model of advertising we’ve been blocking out for years now, just like commercials. They also go on to say that paid recommendations destroy trust, because you’ll never know if what your friend is suggesting to you is true, or just their paid opinion.
