Start Your Car with Your iPhone
Just when you thought that iPhone apps had hit their peak as far as what they can do, a new one allows you to remotely start your car. The Viper SmartStart app is a free download that works in conjunction with your Viper remote start system in your car. You simply hit a button to start or shut off your vehicle, and another to lock or unlock your doors. I don’t know about you, but remote starts come in handy during those cold Canadian winters when you don’t want to run outside to simply warm up your vehicle. Mashable.com has a complete description and demo video of the app.
WordPress Plugin Assists with E-mail Opt-in Code
One thing some bloggers have trouble with is installing e-mail opt-in code in the correct place on their website. A simple wrong line, or implementation in the incorrect spot could call for a funky looking layout. Whether you use Aweber, or another service, there’s a free WordPress plugin to help you manage the code. MaxBlogPress Optin Form Adder is a simple plugin that takes care of your code and helps you decide the correct spot to align it. You can also choose to display the opt-in box within any post using a simple click of the mouse once everything is configured properly. The best part? It’s free!
Second Generation Flip MinoHD Camera Now Available
The new Flip MinoHD video camera came out this week, which is a 8 GB version from its 4 GB little brother. That’s pretty much the only improvement, besides screen size, which increases to 2.0″ from 1.5″ (not a big deal). Another new feature is the ability to upload directly to Facebook — but I’d always want to edit a bit anyways. The new version is $30 more than the previous one, at $229.99. I could review it in better detail for all of you, if the people at MarketLeverage are in the mood for sending one over. (*Hint* Dina *Hint*)
