How To Increase Your RSS Subscribers

September 29th, 2007 posted by · 15 Comments

RSS ButtonI came across an article this week which lists 55 Active RSS Directories to help promote your feeds. My RSS feed has been receiving about 5-10 new subscribers daily, but I don’t consider this to be a lot. I took about 30 minutes out of my day to submit my feed to all 55 sites.

I went to bed and woke up this morning to find that my subscription numbers have more than doubled. I was a little surprised to be honest with you. I wasn’t expecting such a dramatic leap in a short period of time (about 10 hours). I’m now noticing by looking at my FeedBurner stats that I’m averaging about 5 new subscribers an hour. This is great news!

I encourage you to do the same and let me know if you notice a difference in your feed count.

If you enjoyed this post, why not bump up my RSS number by one more and subscribe to my feed in a reader or by e-mail.

Hi there mate. So, meaning we have to go to other’s blog and register to their RSS Feed hoping for them to register to ours?
    Is that so?

Not necessarily. You’re just submitting your feed to directories. 😮

Good idea. It obviously works well for you.
I think I will try that too.

How do we submit feed to other people’s directories? 💡

Visit the link above and each site will have a form you fill out. Most of the time they ask for your blog title, description and then your feed address. 😎

Thanks for the link! I think I’ll give it a try and hope for similar success. My RSS numbers have hit a wall lately. 🙂

Sweet. I”ll try this idea. Sounds laborious, but i will try it, and see how my numbers improve.

I’ll also see how long it takes me to do it. Thx!

I’m at 80-110 subs, but i forgot to track how many i had when i posted my reply here back on Nov 17th. Jeez! What a dope. lol. I added my blog to alot of the RSS directories from the list. (not all, but alot)

I will track it from now on. Also i notice the feedburner chicklet fluctutates like crazy, sometimes its at over 100, then it goes back down, and goes up, etc. It really jumps between 80 and 110.

    Missy.
