Don’t Waste Your Time and Money with Brian Campbell

May 11th, 2008 posted by Chris Jacobson · 18 Comments

I’ve been anticipating the launch of Brian Campbell’s video series he’s been promoting so much on Facebook. Yesterday I got an e-mail from Brian letting me know the videos are now live to watch. In total, there are 45 short YouTube videos which combined, add to about 3 hours worth of content.

I watched all of them in their entirety and while there is some good content, the best quality stuff that Brian preaches comes with a price. He’s been building up hype for two weeks about how he’s going to make $10,000 in 37 days. I don’t doubt for a second that he won’t make that much, but for you to do the same thing is nearly impossible.

The basic idea described in the videos is this…

  • You need your own product to sell. The more expensive it is, the more money you’ll make. Create an informational product; eBook, report, teleseminar, etc.
  • Build your social networking contacts on sites like Facebook.
  • Send these contacts to a squeeze page to capture their e-mail address using autoresponder software and send them a free report or PDF.
  • Now that you’ve got their e-mail address, market them whatever you wish (such as the product you’ve created or affiliate product).
  • Leverage the power of the list by creating a word-filled sales letter.
  • Pick very high traffic, non competing niches… what are those niches? Give Brian a $47 signup fee and $27 a month after that to find out. Ripoff!!

And the end of the video Brian lists three packages you can choose from. Bronze, Silver or Gold (I wonder how he came up with those names - creative guy!). For a minimum of $27 a month and a maximum of $297 a month, you can learn what Brian “sort of” taught in the videos.

This is biggest disappointment and load of crap I’ve ever seen. I’m not usually one to bash another marketer, but when I see the stunt he’s pulling and the number of people buying it, it’s very sad.

The same information suckers will pay hundreds of dollars for can be learned for free all over the internet, including on this very blog.

How You Can Help

This blog reaches about 1000 readers daily and I know this post will prevent a lot of those loyal readers from emptying their pockets into Brian’s system. What you can do to help is e-mail this post to a friend or link to it on your blog.

The more people who can be made aware of what Brian Campbell is trying to pull, the better off the internet marketing community will be.

UPDATE: Brian has just sent out a message stating that he’s reached $7,000 so far since yesterday. But where is the proof? He doesn’t show any!

May 11th, 5:51 p.m. EST: Fellow marketer, Zach Bass just sent me a message on Facebook to give his opinion on things…

Chris,

I think you have a good point. I was also disappointed after viewing the video series, and felt Brian deceived us, in that he said he would reveal exactly how he was going to make the money. Well, he didn’t, exactly.

What he did do, was a bait and switch. Admittedly Brian provided good information in his first video series and in 3/4 of his second. So I don’t begrudge that. But it is plain that he is taking advantage of those people that don’t have a product to sell, by enticing them to pay him money to obtain his bountiful knowledge and guidance.

I’m one of the fortunate ones that cannot be hauled into this scheme, because I’m familiar with such cons, and because I already have an information-based product. But there are many that will be left hanging with no-where to turn and with their hopes hinged on Brian’s promise.

Now, there’s nothing illegal with what Brian has done, and he has in fact disseminated plenty of good information, however, he is taking advantage of a lot of people’s gullibility. And so what he has done borders on unethical at the very least.

Had he announced prior to this point that he intended on extracting the money from his first 1000 students, that would have been better. Though I doubt he would make his $10K goal in that case. And his assertion that others, beyond the first 1,000 will pay ungodly amounts for his vacuous 3 1/2 video is sheer deception.

Shame on you Brian.

Buddy, I worked out this guys tactics when I heard his very first audio. 30 odd minutes where he explained …… NOTHING!

30 minutes of hot air, and not very exciting air at that!

    And nobody saw this coming…

And wow with his basic idea outlined in the videos he is giving away so much. Incredible. This dude a mod at the Warrior Forum? I’m curious to know how many sheeple will actually buy this. In other news, I was thrilled to see you going against the grain and warning your readers. Props.

This is not a new scam at all. You keep them in suspense for as long as possible, and in the last 5% of the page, ask for money. Oldest trick in the book.

People who know this kind of scam go through such sites with skepticism from the start (myself included). Warning bells start going off when we see the $ sign followed by a few numbers and a so-called “package” they offer, which, in turn, does absolutely nothing for anyone.

Brian Campbell, Kudos for coming up with a scam. Too bad some people caught your bluff before it’s too late.

Good point, the problem is it is not only Brian Campbell there are countless so called guru’s online that are too happy to take your money for crap. I think it is high time that we boycott them and shame the culprits.

There is just so much of this rubbish around now. I feel really sorry for the new entrants to the market who will be ripped off. I am getting loads of emails from people who are trying to follow his teaching to the letter and getting as many people as possible into their net. One big problem I see is that once they get their membership they do not know what to do.

Thanks for blowing up Brian’s spot Chris.

Since I had zero experience in growing a friends list on social networks, I was definitely interested in what Brian was teaching re: how to expand my FB friends list. But it was kind of obvious what he was up to.

The initial videos were pretty good, but so far the new ones aren’t that good…he’s just rambling on about pretty basic stuff.

I just received an email from Brian promoting this 3 1/2 hour video that I referred to in Chris’ post. He’s trying to hawk it to me again!

What’s going on with his email management? Doesn’t he know that I’m one of the original 1,000? Am I going to get spammed now for something I’ve already suffered through?

    Hello Chris,

I want to thank you for giving an unbiased opinion. I respect you and you are welcome to it.

I would like to share my opinion if that’s alright with you.

My entire campaign was to show people how to create information products and sell them for a profit. That’s exactly what I did, and I explained it all in my 3 1/2 hour video seminar.

If anyone were to follow what I taught in the free seminar, they would be able to do something similar. If you’ve been following what I’ve been teaching, I haven’t ever claimed anyone else would do it int 37 days, or make $10,000 so quickly.

I simply demonstrated that it was possible to do quickly.

Everything in the free seminar is valid and I challenge anyone to do what I’ve taught and not see some success with it. You don’t need to pay any money to get the benefits of what I’ve taught.

I clearly explained that in the videos & you may have missed hearing it.

I want to point out that I am not a scam and I am working with people to teach them this business. If the information seemed basic to you, it’s probably because you’re already an expert marketer.

For the people who want to learn more from me, I’ve provided different levels of service to assist them. I would be a total hypocrite if I taught everything for free forever, when I’m teaching people how to make money.

I hope that you can appreciate what I’ve already shared for free in the 3 1/2 hour video series. It really is enough for anyone to get started. Nobody else is sharing this information for free and I put it out there to help people.

If you’re not interested in joining my paid membership, that’s quite alright with me. I wish you luck and good fortune and I hope that you’ve learned something valuable from me.

I want you to know that what I’m doing is a complete opposite of a “SCAM,” and if anyone wants to speak with me about this, please call me at my office 610-624-3425. I have nothing to hide & I’d be glad to help you for free.

    Aloha,
    Brian Campbell

Endless Thanks! I am fairly new to the social networking piece and slightly unsure of who is genuine as well as WHAT to believe. Enjoyed your site and will return often.

The “SCAM” part was when Brian said watch his 3 1/2 hour video and he would show the details of how he would make the $10,000. And it became obvious to the student, when 3/4 of the way into the video the information stopped, and the sales pitch for his subscription started. At that point, Brian’s methods became clear, his method was to bait and switch the people who he told would get the info by watching the video.

Brian has deceived these people, because he claimed he would provide the first 1,000 with the nut, and then after that, the video would be closed to everyone else. From there forward people would have to pay. As it turns out, everyone has to pay.

All I could think of was the Charlton Heston saying, “Soylent Green is people!”

I am very new to this intermet business concept, but very soon after I started to listen to the seminar while looking also at what was there on the bottom of the page, I saw the familiar pattern.

Brian did exactly what he promissed to do . It is just another eBook/seminar etc. which is a legitimate business. You don’t have to buy it.
As I said, I didn’t even bother to listen to all because this is not a kind of product that I would like to sell, let along - buy.

I watched with interest and thought (I too was one of the 1st 1,000) That I got my $$ worth. He started with good free content. Now if you want to believe in his method or not is fine. Not knowing anything about him he had to start somewhere. I am seeing a trend going on to give good free content so you might want to get better at a price and not feel ripped off. We are all looking for a way to make a living online and he is offering a way. I’m sure we can get the same type of comments on “every system” out there. As the saying go’s “Different Stokes for Different Folks” Always look before you leap…

Sneaky way to try and get some Digg points!

When will folks stop listening crap and JUST get down and dirty and work for their money. Seriously, this GURU shit should be banned. Shameless Predators all.

    Dear Brian Campbell,
do you remember your rapidforex affiliate program?
Well, I earned more than 600$ with you, but you simply disappeared without paying me and others who promoted your program!!! Are you serious? And now you want people to trust you?

    Beware of this guy!!!!!

  16. Brian Campbell MyAvatars 0.2

As I’ve said before, if anyone has ANY questions for me, please contact me personally to have the issue resolved. I believe that there has been some miscommunication between us.

As far as owing anyone $600 in past commissions, that is completely 100% false. If you feel like I owe you money, please send me your affiliate ID and and email address by calling my office at 610-624-3425. I will be happy to assist you personally and get to the bottom of any outstanding issue to make sure it’s resolved with you.

    Aloha,
    Brian Campbell

It’s 100% true. If you want, Brian, I can post here all the “strange” emails you sent me in order to delay the payments, and then, disappear.
I’ve sent you and email at resolution@rapidforex.com with all the details you need

    Brain,
Even though your system may not be a scam, why don’t you come up with a stable idea that lasts? These kind of histrionics does not do folks good simply because this is not a business model everyone can use to retire from.

3 or 4 years from now, show us 1 student or member from this campaign, who could be making a living off this system.

Even if your system works, the marketing approach is nothing but sensationalism. This is what attracts folks. It works for 1, perhaps 2 or 5. The rest are just suckers looking for more suckers because all of them are doing the exact same thing.

Now back to the basics. Not a sexy and appealing approach. But, back to the basics.
